Our story FROM 1979 TO THE PRESENT

<h2>1979</h2>It was in 1979 that Joseph Helfrich founded Les Grands Chais de France, originally specialising in Cognac before diversifying to the wine trade in 1981

<h2>1982</h2>Petersbach: First bottling line

<h2>1984</h2>J.P. Chenet in its emblematic bottle, a creation from its first two grape varieties: a Cabernet Sauvignon du Pays d’Oc and a Blanc de Blancs des Côtes de Gascogne, which has become today the best selling brand of French wine.

<h2>1986</h2>Jura: First vineyard establishment with the purchase of Compagnie des Grands Vins du Jura, now La Maison du Vigneron

<h2>1989</h2><p>Creation of Jelzin <br /> Bordeaux : establishment of a brokerage office</p>

<h2>1991</h2>Alsace: Purchase of Arthur Metz ; one of the key players in the Alsatian vineyards and the leading producer of Crémant d’Alsace.<br /><br />
Beaujolais: Purchase of Quinson

<h2>1994</h2>Bordeaux: Purchase of Louis Eschenauer, a long-established Bordeaux domain founded by a wine-grower from Alsace in 1921

<h2>1995</h2>1995

<h2>1999</h2>Creation of the 2nd French brand: Grand Sud: A range of single grape varieties from Southern France, the outcome of a long term partnership between our winemakers and the winegrowers of Languedoc and Gascogne, selected for their know-how.

<h2>2003</h2>Languedoc: Purchase of Domaine de la Baume

<h2>2004</h2>Loire: Establishment in the vineyards of the Nantes region and in Anjou

<h2>2006</h2>Bordeaux: Purchase of Dulong Frères et Fils, a family establishment since 1873.

<h2>2007</h2>Bordeaux: Purchase of Calvet enabling the Group to secure more resources and means to achieve its new objective: to become the leading brand of Bordeaux wines in the world.

<h2>2008</h2><p>Establishment abroad with the founding of Weinkellerei Hechtsheim.</p>
<p>Construction of stacker cranes on our sites in Petersbach and Landiras</p>

<h2>2009</h2>Loire: Purchase of Château de Fesles, with the prestigious Bonnezeaux wine

<h2>2011</h2>China: Founding of JIXIFU - Beijing (WOFE Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise)

<h2>2012</h2>Loire: Purchase of Blanc Foussy in Touraine

<h2>2015</h2>Burgundy: Purchase of Tresch Clerget, now François Martenot
